Trades covered
All contractors: 'All contractors working in Frankfort must hold a valid contractors license.' Two classes: General Contractor and Sub-contractor (trades such as plumbing, electrical 'and the like' per code 150.50). Code 150.50 excludes homeowners working on their own residence. 'Any contractor exempt from local licensing requirements must register with the village prior to completing work in Frankfort.'

Notes

Two village pages give different penalty figures: contractors.php says '$750/day max' while contractor_licensing.php says 'fine up to $500 per day'. Code 150.53 also states 'The surety performance bond shall remain in full force 12 months following the issuance of an occupancy permit.' Frankfort treats state-exempt contractors as still required to 'register' with the village. Dollar amounts on the website are the Board-set figures; the code itself defers fees/insurance to the Board of Trustees.
